>So if you are reading this, it’s probably because you want to know how to build a list of email addresses of people that are interested in your products. Whether you are selling affiliate products, your network marketing business or dog toys, you can benefit from building a list. The good news is, it’s very easy to do, whatever your industry.

Why do I need to build an email list?

You’ve probably heard it before, but never fully understood it – “The Money Is In The List”. What exactly does this mean? It means that instead of trying to sell people your products upfront, losing 80% of them who will never return, you are building a list of people that are interested in what you have to offer them, but just weren’t ready to buy that moment. Now you have a list of thousands of people that you can continue to build a relationship with through your mailing list, MANY of whom will purchase from you and do so over and over again. In fact, an average of $2-6 per month, per subscriber is totally achievable, especially in the home business industry.

Imagine having a list of thousands, and being paid $5 each, per month. That’s $5000 a month with only 1000 subscribers. Now you see…the money is in the list.

How To Build A List: Step 1

There are three key components to building an email list. Firstly, there is the free offer. This is something of value you can give away to your visitor that will help them start to solve the problem they are having. For example, they need to increase their blog traffic. You could offer them a free ebook on driving more traffic to their blog, giving them free tips and tricks to do so. By doing this you achieve two things. You start to build trust in your prospect because you are helping them solve their problem and you give them a reason to put their email address into your opt in form…

How To Build A List: Step 2

Your opt in form is the next part that you need to put in place in order to start building a list, as it is the first thing your visitors will see when they arrive at your page. There are several ways to do this. First you can build a solo capture page. You can see mine here – The Secrets Behind Social Media. You see that it has a video about my story, giving them a reason to put their details in. If you haven’t already, I suggest you get the free training there as it is awesome and will help you build your list FAST.

The next option is to put a form on your blog, like you see on the right of mine >> Again this should give people a reason to put in their details, be eye catching and give them something of value for free.

The third way to start building your list is by putting a pop up form on your blog. You probably saw mine when you first came to this site. I would say I get about a third of all my leads through that pop up form which means I would never even dream of having a blog without a pop up form on it now!

I suggest that you use all three ways of collecting leads to build your list fast.

How To Build A List: Step 3

Step three is where the leads start flowing in. Really, step three is an entire subject of it’s own, and one of my favourites….online marketing. Now you get to start driving traffic to your capture pages and opt in forms and there are SO many cool ways to do this. This is the most fun part of my day because I know that by just following a simple routine I can have over 60 leads a day coming in to my mailing list.
